No Fraunhofer institute can single-handedly solve all issues related to embedded systems in a satisfactory and comprehensive manner. The Fraunhofer Embedded Systems Alliance makes available the bundled expertise of all member institutes. It coordinates the work of its member institutes when it comes to cross-discipline contract research projects with industry partners. In addition, the Alliance provides support for forming consortia for public projects and offers consulting services in the context of product certifications. These services are offered both to certifying organizations and to companies wanting to get their products certified.
